Efficacy of hexue mingmu tablets combined with brinzolamide in visual function recovery of patients after glaucoma trabeculectomy

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy of hexue mingmu tablets combined with brinzolamide in the visual function recoveray of patients after glaucoma trabeculectomy.Methods A random number table method was used to divide 98 glaucoma patients who underwent trabecular meshwork resection in Xi'an Fengcheng Hospital from June 2020 to July 2023 into an obser-vation group and a control group,with 49 in each group.The patients in the control group were given brinzolamide treatment after surgery.The patients in the observation group were treated with hexue mingmu tablets on the basis of the regimen in the control group.The visual acuity improvement effect,intraocular pressure changes,optic disc morphology and visual field changes were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of vision improvement in the observation group after medi-cation was 89.80%(44/49),which was higher than that of 73.47%(36/49)in the control group(χ2=4.356,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in intraocular pressure between the two groups after medication((15.32±1.70)mm Hg(1 mm Hg≈ 0.133 kPa)vs(15.67±1.68)mm Hg,t=1.025,P>0.05).After treatment,the average retinal nerve fiber thickness(RNFL)and optic disc rim area(RA)were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control((109.87±13.69)μm vs(97.72±12.46)μm,(1.64±0.15)mm2 vs(1.58±0.14)mm2)(t=4.594,2.047,both P<0.05).The average visual field defect(MD)and pattern standard deviation(PSD)were markedly lower((6.37±1.20)dB vs(8.24±1.34)dB,(6.16±2.04)vs(7.58±2.11))but the average sensitivity degree(MS)was higher((20.48±2.64)dB vs(17.61±2.73)dB)in the observation group than in the control(t=7.277,3.387,5.290,all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of hexue mingmu tablets combined with brinzol-amide after glaucoma trabeculectomy can promote patients'vision,reduce optic nerve fiber layer edema,improve patients'visual field defects,increase visual acuity,and promote the recovery of visual function.
