Efficacy of Jingulian capsule combined with methotrexate tablet in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract：Objective To investigate the efficacy of Jingulian capsules in combination with methotrexate tablets in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Eighty-two patients with rheumatoid arthritis admitted to Ma'anshan Shiqiye Hospital from October 2021 to January 2024 were included in this study and divided into the control group (receiving therapy with methotrexate tablets) and the observation group (receiving treatment with methotrexate tablets combined with Jingulian capsule) by using the random number table method,with 41 in each group. Clinical efficacy,RF negative rate,C-reactive protein (CRP),rheumatoid factor (RF) and eryth-rocyte sedimentation rate before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Changes in serological indicators such as ESR,morning stiffness time and rest pain time,changes in the number of joint swelling,and the knee joint Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) and 28 joint Disease Activity Score (DAS28) changes and adverse reactions were also compared between the two groups. Results The observation group's overall effective rate (95.12％,39/41) was greater than that of the control (80.49％,33/41) but its negative rate of RF (95.12％,39/41) was higher than that of the control (80.49％,33/41),the differences were statistically significant (x2=4.100,4.100,both P<0.05). In the observation group,morning stiffness time,rest pain time,number of joint swelling,WOMAC score and DAS28 score after treatment were (40.65±6.33) min,(1.85±0.47) min,(2.94±0.58) number,(39.65±4.02) scores and (2.94±0.39) scores,respectively,which were better than those of (60.23±6.23) min,(1.85±0.47) min,(2.94±0.58) number,(54.23±3.23) scores and (3.90±0.44) scores in the control group,the differences were statistically sig-nificant (t=14.116,7.034,9.010,18.104,10.455,all P<0.05). After treatment,the CRP,RF and ESR indexes in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and they were lower in the observation group than in the control ((96.45±4.95) IU·mL-1 vs (134.23±5.23) IU·mL-1,(29.65±4.95) mg·L-1 vs (39.54±6.23) mg·L-1 and (26.45±3.41) mm·h-1 vs (35.45±2.52) mm·h-1) and the differences were statistically significant between the two groups (t=33.593,7.959,13.591,all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the observation group (2.44％,1/41) and the control group (7.32％,3/41) (x2=1.051,P>0.05). Conclusion The treatment using methotrexate tablets combined with Jingulian capsule can improve the clinical effect and neg-ative rate of rheumatoid factor in patients with rheumatoid arthritis,alleviate the symptoms of arthritis and promote the recovery of joint function. Meanwhile,this regimen is safe and reliable.
