Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of finerenone in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy and its influence on renal function. Methods A total of 120 patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy admitted to Wuzhou People's Hospital from October 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the research subjects and divided into the treatment group (n=60) and the conventional group (n=60) by the random number table method. The conventional treatment methods (lowering blood glucose, reducing blood pressure, regulating blood lipids) were adopted in the conventional group while finerenone was added in the treatment group. The clinical efficacy, renal function indicators and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate was 96.67% (58/60) in the treatment group, which was significantly higher than that of 86.67%(52/60) in the conven-tional group (x2=3.927,P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no statistical differences in levels of serum creatinine (SCr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),β2-microglobulin (β2-MG),cystatin C (Cys-C) and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) between the two groups (t=0.063,0.264,0.192,all P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of SCr,BUN,β2-MG,Cys-C and NT-proBNP in the treatment group were (68.72±6.56) µmol·L-1,(4.14±1.06) mmol·L-1,(1.27±0.35) mg·L-1,(1.59±0.23) mg·L-1 and (328.16±102.65) pg·mL-1 and they were lower than those of (75.18±6.17) µmol·L-1,(5.49±1.25) mmol·L-1,(1.92±0.64) mg·L-1,(1.96±0.34) mg·L-1 and (413.71±120.81) pg·mL-1 in the conventional group (t=5.556,6.380,6.902,6.982,4.078,all P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 3.33% and 6.67% in the two groups, showing no statistically significant difference (x2=0.702,P>0.05). Conclusion Finerenone can be used to effectively treat patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy because it can improve the renal function. Meanwhile,it has high safety.
