Effect of Wuling capsule on quality of life in patients with sleep disorders after cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of Wuling capsule combined with oxazepam on the quality of life in patients with sleep disorders after cerebral infarction.Methods:Eighty-four patients with sleep disorders after cerebral infarction admitted to hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were enrolled in this study and randomized into the control group and observation group.The patients in the control group were treated with conventional symptomatic therapy + oxazepam.Based on this,those in the observation group revieved the addition of Wuling capsule.Then the clinical efficacy,National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Short-Form 36 quality of life(SF-36),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),and adverse reaction rate were compared between the 2 groups.Results:The observation group reported a higher clinical efficacy rate than control group(97.62%vs 83.33%,P<0.05).A reduction in PSQI and NIHSS,and an increase in SF-36 were observed in all patients after treatment,and both improvements were more notable in the observation group than in control((3.89±1.12)vs(6.58±1.37),(10.07±1.15)vs(11.88±1.24),(86.32±4.24)vs(81.09±4.17),all P<0.05).An elevation in 5-HT,GABA and BDNF levels was detected in all patients after treatment,and the increase was more remarkable in observation group than in the control((331.47±18.56)vs(281.42±16.59),(415.21±27.32)vs(361.71±25.23),(49.68±6.87)vs(31.74±6.92),all P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate was slightly lower in the observation group than in the control,with no statistical difference(7.14%vs 11.90%,P>0.05).Conclusion:Application of Wuling capsule combined with oxazepam in patients with sleep disorders after cerebral infarction can effectively ameliorate the neurotransmitter and neurocellular factor levels and quality of life with better safety.
