One case of urinary incontinence and urine retention induced by iopamidol injection

Abstract:A 50-year-old female patient was hospitalized due to intermittent cough and expectoration for 1 month, aggravation with fever for 5 days. The patient was diagnosed as acute bronchitis. The patient had no history of urinary incontinence or urine retention. After being treated with Tanreqing injection for 4 days, levofloxacin injection for 8 days, carbocisteine oral solution for 8 days and iopamidol injection for 14 hours. The patient developed urinary incontinence. Levofloxacin injection was withdrawn immediately. Two days later, urinary incontinence was replaced by urine retention. Nervous system disease was excluded. Urinary catheter was inserted and levofloxacin injection was given to the patient according to the abnormal result of urine routine test. Four days after urine retention, the patient could micturate by herself. Five days after being treated with levofloxacin injection, the patient was in stable station and was discharged with normal result of routine urine test.
