Abstract:Objective: To analyze the application of acetylcysteine injection in our hospital and summarize the characteristics of ADR/ADE associated with acetylcysteine injection, in order to provide references for rational drug use. Methods:The clinical data of the patients who were treated with acetylcysteine injection in our hospital from June 2016 to August 2017 were collected and analyzed retrospectively in terms of the indication, the course of treatment, dosages, frequency of administration, route of medication, type and amount of solvent, incompatibility and drip speed. A total of 36 cases of ADR/ADE associated with acetylcysteine injection were also analyzed. Results: Among the 2060 cases, the top three reasons of off-label drug use were unsuitable solvent (66.96%), inappropriate dosage (18.10%), unsuitable amount of solvent choice (11.99%). Among the 36 ADR/ADE cases, the factors resulted in ADR/ADE were unlabeled drop rate (100.00%), unsuitable type and amount of solvent (69.44%) and unindicated drug use (11.11%). Conclusion: Acetylcysteine injection should be strictly used in accordance with drug instruction, the irrational use of drugs was the main cause of ADR/ADE.
