Analysis of evaluation about the use of vancomycin in 95 hospitalized patients

Abstract:Objective: To investigate and evaluate the clinical use status of vancomycin in hospitalized patients and provides reference for rational drug use. Methods: Retrospective method was used to analyze the usage of vancomycin in different departments, pathogenic bacteria examination, clinical efficiency percentage and therapeutic drug concentration monitoring of patients who received vancomycin in our hospital from January to December in 2016 were collected and analyzed. Results: The department of hematological (14.74%) and orthopedics (13.68%) had higher vancomycin usage ratio. Pathogenic detection rate was 78.95%. About 86 cases (90.53%) gained effective result for the patients. A total of 9 cases (9.47%) blood drug concentration were monitored. Conclusion: There was no abuse of vancomycin in our hospital. We should pay more attentions to serum concentration monitoring to ensure the drug safety of patients.
