Analysis of 718 cases of adverse drug reaction reported in our hospital

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the characteristics and patterns of the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in our hospital. Methods: A total of 718 ADR reports in our hospital from 2012 to 2016 were collected retrospectively. The data in respect of the reports involved in ADR were analyzed statistically. Results: Among the 718 cases, doctors and nurses reported 28.41%, pharmacists reported 71.59%. The incidence of ADR was slightly higher in women (54.04%) than that in men (45.96%). The average age of the patients was (63.4 ± 1.1) year, the incidence of elderly patients was high. In the classification of drugs involved, the incidence of ADR anti-infective drugs was high (315 cases, 37.59%) including 134 cases of cephalosporin anti-infective drugs. In the route of administration, the incidence of intravenous drip was the highest, accounting for 58.77%. In the system/organ damage, the most was the skin and its appendages damage, accounting for 47.59%. Conclusion: Our hospital ADR monitoring work carried out in depth, for the clinical information provided by the ADR support, further to achieve the purpose of safe and effective medication.
