Systematic evaluation of improving strategy about medication adherence of under age patient with epilepsy in China

Abstract:Objective: To conduct a systematic evaluation of improving strategy about medication adherence among under age patient with epilepsy. Methods: Studies which reported interventions to improve medication adherence were identified from CBM, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang database. For studies involved adherence interventions, we used a descriptive analysis. Results:We included 29 studies. Compliance improvement measures included educational interventions (n = 13), nursing intervention (n =10), behavioral intervention (n = 3), children's parents mental intervention (n = 1), quality control circle intervention (n = 1) and telephone follow-up (n = 1). All the studies revealed that the interventions were efficient. Conclusion: The medication compliance improvement strategies for under age patient with epilepsy is not sufficient, in order to better understand the effect of all kinds of intervention for improving drug compliance and to provide evidence for the rational drug use, it is necessary to carry out large sample, long time follow-up research in future.
