Analysis on the application of analgesics and adjuvant analgesics in pain management ward

Abstract:Objective: To retrospectively analyze the treatment of pain patients in pain management ward of our hospital, and provide reference for rational drug use in clinic. Methods: All clinical cases and drug information of pain patients from January to June in 2016 were collected by the HIS system of the hospital, and application of analgesics and adjuvant analgesics was analyzed. Results: A total of 223 patients accepted the analgesic treatment. The number of analgesic and adjuvant analgesic drugs was similar between male patients and female patients, also between ≥ 60 and < 60 years old patients, without significant difference (P > 0.05). But the number of analgesic and auxiliary analgesic drugs used in cancer pain patients was higher than that of non-cancer pain patients, with significant difference (P < 0.05). The top three categories of analgesics and adjuvant analgesics were anticonvulsants (24.80%), NSAIDs (12.51%) and central analgesics (10.94%). The top three analgesics and adjuvant analgesics in terms of use frequency were pregabalin, tramadol and eperisone hydrochloride. Conclusion: Good analgesic effect was received by combination of analgesic drugs and adjuvant analgesic drugs, while attentions and potential risks of drugs also should be mastered.
