Intervention and effect evaluation of clinical pharmacist on the doctor's orders in department of endocrinology

Abstract:Objective: To explore the working mode of clinical pharmacists in the department of endocrinology. Methods: The medical orders before and after intervention were extracted by HIS. The category and frequency of drug were statistically analyzed. The rationality of the doctor's advice before and after the intervention were compared and analyzed. Results: A total of 4 surveys were performed. And 216 kinds of drugs (20444 frequencies) were involved. The number of unreasonable orders decreased by 11.36%, 6.57% and 2.24% at one month, six months and one year of the intervention respectively. And there were significant differences between the numbers of unreasonable orders before and after intervention at one month and six months. Conclusion: The persistently active work patterns can improve the efficiency of clinical pharmacists and help to maintain the rational use of drugs.
