Abstract:Objective: To investigate and analyze the application of reduced glutathione for injection in clinic, and provide the reference for rational drug use. Methods: The clinical data of the in-patients who were treated by reduced glutathione for injection in our hospital in March 2016 were collected and analyzed retrospectively in respect of the medical reasons, indication, usage and dosage, combination treatment, the course of treatment, etc. Results: The majority disease of 223 patients using reduced glutathione for injection was hepatobiliary system disease accompanied with liver dysfunction, accounting for 55.2%. The largest number of patients was in the Liver Research Center (21.5%). The patients in Hematology Department had the highest dosage per case (56.8 ampoules). Most reduced glutathione for injection were used alone (63.2%). About 90.6% of the patients were given the daily dose of 2.4 g which was the maximum recommended dose in the instruction. 77.6% of reduced glutathione for injection were used once a day according to the instruction while 22.4% of reduced glutathione for injection were used twice a day. Conclusion:The application of reduced glutathione for injection in our hospital was basically rational. But there was still unsuitable use in clinic, which may be associated with the doctors who were not familiar with the recommended usage and dosage in the instruction of reduced glutathione for injection. Thus, it is needed to be standardized. Meanwhile, we should adjust the dosage according to the liver function when using reduced glutathione for injection.
