Abstract:Objective: To analyze the application of recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in chemotherapy relevant anemia, explore the rationality administration of rhEPO. Methods: Cases of patients treated with rhEPO from August 2016 to September 2016 in our hospital were collected. And the data was retrospectively analyzed including drug information, gender, age, tumor type, tumor stage of patients, usage and dosage of rhEPO and combined with iron. Results: A total of 1376 cases of chemotherapy patients were collected, among which 128 cases (9.30%) were treated with rhEPO. Use of rhEPO showed no significant difference in patients with different gender and age (P > 0.05), while use of rhEPO showed significant difference in patients with different tumor type and tumor stage (P < 0.001). Among patients using rhEPO, 89.07% cases were given the recommended usage and dosage according to the guideline. Utilization of rhEPO combined with iron was 33.59%. Conclusion:The utilization of rhEPO in our hospital was in line with the guidelines. But the utilization of rhEPO and the combined use with iron should be further improved. More evidence-based medical researches were expected to evaluate the benefit of rhEPO in patients with early-stage, curative tumor.
