WU Yu-ting
Abstract:One 85-year-old male patient was suffered from severe pneumonia complicated with type I respiratory failure. After given meropenem (1.0 g, q 8 h, ivgtt) anti-infective treatment, his transaminase rapidly rose, which was considered as drug-induced liver injury. Clinical pharmacists took pharmaceutical care on the patient, investigated the used drugs for the patient in detail, and discussed the relationship between the possible drugs and adverse reactions. Clinical pharmacists considered the liver injury was induced by meropenem. Consequently, meropenem was stopped, and liver protection therapy was given. Besides, clinical pharmacists also strengthened the monitoring of liver function. Finally, the patient was discharged with a good health condition.
