Abstract:Objective: To investigate the efficacy of meropenem on different infusion time in the treatment of hematologic malignancies patients with fever. Methods: The therapeutic effects of two kinds of meropenem regimen in patients with hematologic malignancies and fever were analyzed from January 2014 to December 2015. Clinical efifcacy, effects in bacteriology, and inlfammation biomarkers were evaluated. Results:The time from fever to normothermia was (3.00 ± 1.12)d in the prolonged infusion group, which was signiifcantly shorter than normal infusion group (3.91 ± 1.04)d,P<0.05; the total clinical effective rate in the prolonged infusion group was 88.23%, which was signiifcantly higher than normal infusion group (64.41%),P<0.05; the level of CRP decreased to (36.25 ± 24.49) mg·L-1 in the prolonged infusion group on the 5th day, which was signiifcantly less than normal infusion group (63.80 ± 28.50) mg·L-1,P<0.05; the level of PCT decreased to (0.11 ± 0.06) ng·mL-1 in the prolonged infusion group on the 5th day, which was signiifcantly less than normal infusion group (0.30 ± 0.81) ng·mL-1,P<0.05; removing rates ofpseudomonas aeruginosa in the sputum samples were signiifcantly different between the two groups,P<0.05. However, the course of treatment time of meropenem therapy and the removing rates on other bacteriology had no signiifcant differences between the two groups,P>0.05.Conclusion: Prolonging the infusion time of meropenem could improve the efifcacy in patients with hematologic malignancies and fever.
