Pharmaceutical care on the patient with children's brain arteriovenous malformation and hemorrhage

Abstract:[AbstrAct]One 7-year-old female patient was admitted to hospital mainly because of fever for half-day and vomitted once. Clinical diagnoses were brain arteriovenous malformation and hemorrhage, acute adenopharyngitis. After hospitalization, the patient received the anti-infective therapy with penicillin sodium, reducing intracranial pressure therapy with mannitol injection, brain angiography with iodixanol injection, sedation therapy with midazolam injection, sufentanil citrate injection was used to analgesia treatment, anti-inflammatory therapy with budesonide suspension for inhalation. Clinical pharmacists supervised the entire treatment in order to optimize the therapeutic regimen by selecting more appropriate analgesic and sedative medications, anti-infective medications and inhaled corticosteroids. Moreover, the adverse drug reactions like electrolyte disturbance, liver function abnormalities and renal insufifciency were monitored regularly. The patient was in a stable condition and discharged on the 10th day.
