Abstract:Objective:To investigate clinical use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in surgery, and explore intervention mode of clinical adjuvant drugs for further regulating use of PPIs by the clinical pharmacists. Methods: A total of 916 cases on two kinds of operation (clean operation-herniorrhaphy, contaminated operation-hemorrhoidectomy) were selected from January 2011 to December 2015 in a grade 2 and ifrst-class hospital, the clinical pharmacy intervention pathway on perioperative use of PPIs formulation was designed and developed. Pharmaceutical intervention pathway explicitly regulated the therapeutic regimen of acid suppression, and the regimen was introduced directly into the drug treatment program of two kinds of single-disease clinical pathway. A comparative study on the use of PPIs in perioperative period of two kinds of single-disease before (2011– 2013) and after (2014– 2015) the intervention was carried out. The data were analyzed using statistical software SPSS18.0 according to standardized management control indicators for different diseases. Results:After the intervention of preventive use of anti-acid drugs in the perioperative period by clinical pharmacists, the rationality on indications, drug selection, usage and dosage was signiifcantly improved (P < 0.05); the treatment course of use of PPIs in patients reduced 1.69 days, the proportion of drug costs in hospitalization costs declined by 10.26%.Conclusion: Through this study, it can help pharmacists to ifnd the clinical intervention targets and develop an intervene measure on perioperative use of PPIs in the single-diseases treatment. Furthermore it can provide a feasible and effective working mode for pharmacists on designing single-disease clinical pathway and intervention irrational drug use.
