Analysis of 495 adverse drug reactions reports in our hospital

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the regulars, characteristics and clinical manifestation of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in our hospital, and provide references for the clinical rational drug use.Methods:A total of 495 ADR reports from January 2014 to December 2015 were collected in our hospital. Age distribution, gender, route of administration, drug categories, systems and organs involved and clinical manifestations, adverse reaction types, serious adverse drug reaction reports involved in ADRs were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Among 495 ADR reports, the incidence of male (55.56%) was higher than that of female (44.44%), and the ADRs in elderly patients with the age over 60 accounted for the vast majority. The proportion of ADR cases induced by anti-infection drugs was highest, accounting for 26.87%, followed by digestive and circulatory system drugs (15.76% for each system); intravenous infusion was a high-risk cohort in the route of administration, accounting for 71.92%. The most clinical manifestations of ADR was digestive system damage (133 cases, 26.87%), followed by skin and appendix damage (130 cases, 26.26%). A total of 63 cases (12.73%) were serious ADRs, including 23 cases of digestive system damage, 12 cases of hematological system damage and 11 cases of systemic damage.Conclusion:Attention should be paid to the ADR vigilance, clinical pharmacists should play the important role, and pharmaceutical care should be strengthened to assure the drug use in effective, safe and economic way.
