Abstract:One 53-year-old female patient was diagnosed with the right lower lung adenocarcinoma. After several rounds of unsuccessful chemotherapies, the patient received sequential therapy of pemetrexed and geiftinib. Application of geiftinib 16 days later, the patient presented with intermittent fever, cough a few white mucus, and highest temperature of 39℃. Diffuse inifltration shadow can be seen along with a small amount of pleural effusion by CT examination. The patient was treated with anti-infective and other symptomatic treatment, but the symptoms were not alleviated. After assessment of disease state, the lung cancer progression was excluded, then the symptoms were considered as geiftinib-induced interstitial pneumonia. The patient was received prednisone acetate tablets for the treatment of interstitial pneumonia for 37 days, the chest CT examination showed bilateral pulmonary interstitial inlfammation had been absorbed. The patient has no longer taken geiftinib. After 10 days, the patient readmitted to hospital for disease assessment. Finally, the patient took icotinib to control the disease progression, and no fever, coughing sputum and other symptoms were observed in the following next 2 months.
