Analysis of the clinical application of human serum albumin in a medical institution among 714 patients

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the application of human serum albumin in our hospital, and provide references for rational use of drugs in clinic. Methods:From January 2015 to June 2015, clinical data of 714 inpatients using human serum albumin in our hospital were collected by electronic medical record system. The data were recorded and statistically analyzed by Excel 2007 in respect of the age, gender, clinical diagnosis, inpatient department, serum albumin concentration before the utilization of human serum albumin, dosage, administration and so on. Results:Human serum albumin was used in 18 departments. The most amount of human serum albumin was used in tumor of digestive system. The individual consumption quantity under 20 g took up the great proportion, accounting for 31.93%. Most patients used this drug for hypoproteinemia (63.87%), and most of them had a baseline serum albumin level less than 30 g·L-1 (64.71%). Conclusion:Human serum albumin was used widely in our hospital. The application of human serum albumin in our hospital was far from perfect, so we should strengthen the management of the rational use of human serum albumin.
