Pharmaceutical care on a patient with femoral head necrosis after renal transplantation

Abstract:One 43-year-old female patient with renal transplantation for 5 months was hospitalized for pain in crotch. The MR for bilateral hip joints showed bilateral femoral head necrosis, hip joint retrogression and few hydrops in right hip joint. After hospitalization, the patient received the antirejection and anticoagulant therapy. At the same time, herbal fumigation and washing, acupuncture combined with thermotherapy were used. During the treatment, clinical pharmacists took pharmaceutical cares for making sure the safety and efifciency of medication as follows: use of immunosuppressants, monitoring the adverse drug reaction and drug interaction of statins and immunosuppressants, and carrying out the medication education on cautions of drugs and regular reexamination indexes. After 8 days, the patient was in stable situation and discharged from hospital.
