Abstract:One 52-year-old male patient was hospitalized for right lung adenocarcinoma with multiple metastases and renal insufifciency. Hemodialysis was administered routinely and anti-tumor therapy was considered to this patient after admission. By reviewing the extensive literature and combining with chemotherapy drug pharmacokinetics in hemodialysis patients, docetaxel and cisplatin (DP) treatment regimen was administered and hemodialysis was given immediately after completion of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy-associated toxicities were grade 0 hematologic toxicities and grade 2 gastrointestinal reactions. The levels of serum creatinine were within 167.3–298.7 μmol·L-1. No serious adverse reaction was observed during the treatment. The case suggested that standard dose DP regimen for the hemodialysis patients with NSCLC was feasible, and the hemodialysis patients with renal insufifciency can tolerate chemotherapy when proper preventive measures were taken.
