Pharmaceutical care on a lung cancer patient with systemic multiple bone metastases

Abstract:One 72-year-old elderly male patient was hospitalized because of lung cancer with systemic multiple bone metastases. The patient was given symptomatic treatment including bone protection, immunity enhancement and improving appetite and so on. Clinical pharmacists carried out the overall pharmaceutical care to assist clinical physicians promoting treatment scheme, which contained the treatment for cancer pain, the adverse drug reactions of bisphosphonates and opioids, the drug interaction between icotinib and carbamazepine, the medication education for patient. After 23 days of symptomatic treatment, the patient was discharged.
