Abstract:Objective:To establish the HPLC method for simultaneous determination of chloramphenicol and salicylic acid in tincture. Methods: HPLC was used in the quantitative analysis with C18 chromatographic column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm). The mobile phase consisted of methanol-water-glacial acetic acid (50 : 50 : 1) with the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1. The column temperature was 30℃. The detection wavelength was 295 nm and the injection volume was 10 μL.Results:The calibration curves of chloramphenicol and salicylic acid had a good linearity in the range of 60.77– 141.80 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 8)and 123.50– 288.10 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 7)respectively. The average recovery of chloramphenicol was 99.76% with RSD of 1.08% (n = 9). The average recovery of salicylic acid was 99.87% with RSD of 1.19% (n = 9).Conclusion:The method is simple, accurate and reliable, which can be used as the quality control method of this preparation.
