One case of acute urticaria induced by meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate

Abstract:A 56-year-old male patient with acute coronary syndrome was hospitalized for chest distress, dizziness and unconsciousness lasting 4 hours. This patient had no history of medications and food allergies previously. Meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate injection (120 mg, ivgtt) was given for improving metabolism of cardiac muscle cells after admission. After 10 minutes, the patient appeared urticaria rash accompanied with itching, mainly in shoulder, back and facial regions. The diagnosis was acute urticaria, then meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate was stopped immediately, and he was given calcium gluconate injection 1 g, dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection 5 mg and loratadine tablets 10 mg for relieving allergic symptoms. About 3 h later, no new rash appeared, and the urticaria rash subsided.
