Abstract:One 73-year-old male patient was diagnosed with colon adenocarcinoma and liver metastasis, and had no allergic history of drug and food. The patient had received 18 cycles of chemotherapy before admission, including 9 cycles of oxaliplatin chemotherapy. We changed the chemotherapy regimen because of the progressive disease, and chose oxaliplatin again. Thirty minutes after the infusion of oxaliplatin, the patient developed chill and fever, and the body temperature reached to 39℃. The patient was treated with dexamethasone sodium phosphate, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, indometacin suppository. The chill relieved immediately, and the body temperature recovered 2 hours later. The same symptoms appeared in the next 2 times of infusions. The patient stopped using oxaliplatin after the third time of allergy.
