Analysis and pharmaceutical care of the meropenem's influence on blood drug concentration of sodium valproate in one epileptic patient

Abstract：One case of 60-year-old male patient, who suffered from multiple cerebral infarction, secondary epilepsy, pulmonary infection (extended-spectrumβ-lactamase-positiveKlebsiella pneumoniae) and typeⅠrespiratory failure, received the therapy of combination with sodium valproate and meropenem. Clinical pharmacists carried out pharmaceutical care on this patient, monitored the blood drug concentration of sodium valproate, and adjusted sodium valproate dosage based on the results of blood drug concentration. The lung infection of this patient cured, and the symptom of epilepsy was also controlled efifciently.
