Abstract:Objective:To retrospectively study the clinical efifcacy and safety of tigecycline in treatment of extensively drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (XDRAB) infection. Methods: A total of 13 cases of XDRAB infection treated with tigecycline were collected in our hospital from June 2012 to January 2014. Medication regimen, drug combination, clinical efifcacy rate, bacteria clearance rate and adverse drug reaction were analyzed respectively. Results:Among the 13 cases, 6 cases were treated by tigecycline combination with other antibacterials. The clinical efifcacy rate of tigecycline was 53.8%. Bacteria clearance rate of tigecycline was 46.2%. Two cases showed adverse drug reactions correlated with tigecycline. Conclusion:The tigecycline showed well clinical efifcacy on XDRAB infection;meanwhile we should pay close attention to the adverse reactions of tigecycline and balance the beneifts and the risks, in order to provide safe and effective treatment for patients.
