Abstract:Objective: To investigate the utilization and rationality of human serum albumin in the senile patients, and provide references for the rational drug use in clinic. Methods: The data about human serum albumin in the department of geriatrics of our hospital were collected in 2013 and were analyzed retrospectively in respect of gender, age, diagnosis, dosage and administration, human serum albumin concentration, the level of total protein and hemoglobin before and after treatments, etc. Results: A total of 515 senile patients used human serum albumin for treating 11 kinds of diseases. The number of tumor patients using human serum albumin accounted for the largest dosage proportion (43.6%). Duration of medicine treatment was 5– 10 days, and the serum albumin levels of the most patients before treatment were less than 30 g·L-1. After treatment, serum albumin, total protein and hemoglobin of the patients significantly increased (P < 0.001,P < 0.001,P < 0.05).Conclusion: There were still some mistakes in the administration of human serum albumin, and the supervision of rational drug use should be strengthened.
