Investigation on the optimized dosage regimen of meropenem from one patient with severe pneumonia

Abstract：[ABSTRACT]One 80-year-old male patient with epilepsy and many other diseases was hospitalized because of pulmonary infection. The patient was diagnosed as severe pneumonia and typeⅠrespiratory failure. The patient received anti-infectious therapy including meropenem and other antibiotics as well as symptomatic treatments, and then the situation of patient improved gradually. The importance and necessity of optimized meropenem dosage regimen by prolonging infusion in patients with severe pneumonia was explored. If the stability of metopenem could be guaranteed, the anti-infectious efifcacy can be improved by prolonging infusion time.
