Efficacy observation ofQirong Runchang oral liquid in the treatment of constipation caused by opioid medicine

Abstract：[ABSTRACT]Objective:To observe the effect ofQirong Runchang oral liquid in the treatment of constipation caused by opioid medicine.Methods:A total of 82 patients with constipation taking opioid medicine were randomized into two groups; the treatment group (42 patients) was treated withQirong Runchang oral liquid (20 mL, tid), the control group (40 patients) was treated with lactulose oral liquid (15 mL, tid). The constipation conditions in respect of frequency, time, dififculty of defecation and stool property were recorded and accessed by score system.Results: The overall efifcacy in treatment group and in control group was 95.2% and 72.5% respectively; the efifcacy was signiifcantly different in these two groups (P< 0.05). The symptom indexes in both of two groups improved obviously after treatment, and the constipation conditions in respect of frequency, time, dififculty of defecation in treatment group were better than those in control group with statistical signiifcance (P < 0.05).Conclusion:Qirong Runchang oral liquid could effectively improve the constipation symptoms such as increasing frequency, shortening time and relieving dififculty of defecation.
