Abstract:Gastric cancer is a high-incidence gastrointestinal malignant tumour in China, and the overall prognosis is poor. Recently, although the quality of life and the survival of patients with advanced gastric cancer have been improved, the 5-year survival rate is still low and the efifcacy of chemotherapy is also very limited. With the development of molecular biology, there is a thorough understanding of the genesis and development of gastric cancer. At present, the treatment of gastric cancer has entered a new era of individual targeted therapy, targeted drugs can prevent the growth of cancer cells by binding speciifc molecular targets which are essential for the development of cancer. Many large clinical trials had assessed the efifcacy and safety of targeted drugs in patients with gastric cancer. Screening targeted therapy-related biomarkers early and targeted therapy according to status of biomarkers will become the main direction of standard treatment of gastric cancer.
