One case of elevated creatinine induced by tigecycline

Abstract:One 90-year-old male patient with severe chronic renal insufifciency hospitalized due to community acquired pneumonia. Combining with sputum culture, urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity selection, tigecycline was used with initial dose of 100 mg, then followed by 50 mg every 12 hours. Three days later, creatinine signiifcantly increased, and decreased after withdrawal of tigecycline. Four days later, creatinine returned to the level of pretreatment.
