Abstract:Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. originated in the United States, which is desirable as ornamental plant, then distributed all over the world. In China, it grows in the southern of Xinjiang as wild resources. Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. contains lfavonoids, volatile oil, phenolic, phenylpropanoids, saponins, amino acids, sugars and fatty acids, etc. The pharmacological and biological studies revealed that the plants had many activities such as anti-inlfammatory, antioxidant, lowering blood pressure, regulating blood lipid, improving the function of blood coagulation, inhibitingα-glycosidase enzymes, recovering the impaired glucose tolerance, lowering blood sugar and antimicrobial biological activity, so it has good development prospect. In order to provide the references for the further utilization of the Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt., the recent research advances in the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities about Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. were reviewed.
