Pareto optimal analysis of 513 cases of ADR reports

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the characteristics of adverse drug reaction of Xiangshan country in 2012 for providing references about rational drug use. Methods:The Pareto optimal analysis was adopted to analyze the ADRs in respect of the patient's age, route of administration, antimicrobial varieties, the severe and new ADRs as well as drug-related clinical manifestations. Results: Among the 513 ADR cases, 203 cases (39.6%) were male and 310 cases (60.4%) were female. Most cases were more than 30 years old. The patients over 60 years old were at high risk of ADRs. The main route of administration was intravenous drip. Antibacterials were mostly involved in 513 ADR reports. A total of 271 cases (52.8%) were severe and new ADRs. Conclusion:Pharmaceutical care and individual regime should be strengthened to improve rational drug use and reduce the occurrence of ADRs.
