Pharmaceutical care on a patient with lupus nephritis combined with lung infection

Abstract:One female patient with lupus nephritis got pneumonia and digestive discomfort due to administration of glucocorticoid after admission. Symptoms relieved with the treatment of cefoperazone sodium/sulbactam sodium and rebamipide tablets, then the cyclophosphamide associated with other supportive treatment were prescribed. Considering the patients' condition, clinical pharmacist took pharmaceutical care on the utilization of the antibacterials, glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, while monitored the adverse drug reaction (ADR) during the treatment, and offered advice for the potential risks, as well as enhanced the medication compliance. The patient recovered well and discharged after symptomatic treatment.
