Abstract:Objective:To study the feasibility and key elements of active surveillance of vancomycin-related nephrotoxicity in hospitalized patients based on computer-aided system. Methods:Based on inpatient's active monitor and assessment system of adverse drug events and the event monitor conifgurator of vancomycin-related nephrotoxicity set by team work, the retrospective method was used for evaluating the hospitalized patients of PLA General Hospital from October 1, 2012 to August 27, 2013 who intravenously used the vancomycin. The positive warning cases were manually re-evaluated. Results:Among 619 actual screening cases, there were 9 warning cases auto screened by the system. After manual re-evaluation, the actual positive cases were 4 cases, the positive warning rate was 0.65%. Conclusion:The positive warning rate of vancomycin-related nephrotoxicity by inpatient's active monitor and assessment system was consistent with that of the literature. Setting parameters of adverse drug events conifgurator in this system was the key point and should be based on different target drugs as well as the different characteristics of adverse drug events.
