Typical cases of irrational medical orders in pharmacy intravenous admixture services of tumor pharmacy

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the irrational medical orders of pharmacy intravenous admixture services (PIVAS) of tumor pharmacy in order to promote rational use of drugs. Methods:The typical cases of unreasonable orders from PIVAS were analyzed by studying the drug-related information and drug instructions. Results:The main problem of unreasonable medical orders was improper solvent. The type and volume of solvent were depended on the basic properties of drugs, such as stability, solubility, permeability and so on. Conclusion:Pharmacists should strictly examine medical orders via using expertise knowledge in order to ensure safe and rational use of drugs.
