Key points of prescription review on traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions and analysis of typical cases in our hospital

Abstract：Objective: To summarize the key points of prescription review on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescriptions and analyze the typical cases in order to provide reference for rational drug use. Methods:Based on Prescription Administrative Policy, Hospital Prescription Evaluation Management Norms and property of TCM prescriptions, the key points of prescription review were clariifed. The prescription review strategies were analyzed by evaluating typical cases. Results:Evaluating the rationality of TCM prescriptions should follow the writing norms of prescriptions and synthetically evaluate the conformity of prescription drug and theory of TCM, such as syndrome differentiation and treatment, eighteen incompatible medicaments and nineteen medicaments of mutual antagonism. There were 7 typical cases involving 4 types of unreasonable questions in TCM prescriptions, such as lack of syndrome differentiation in choice of drugs, repeated use of drugs, incompatibility and unsuitable use of drugs. Conclusion:Through prescription review, normalization and rationality of the TCM prescriptions were improved signiifcantly. The problems listed in key points of prescription review should be paid attention to, and the irrational prescriptions should be intervened and corrected for promoting clinical rational drug use.
