Allergic shock induced by oxaliplatin for injection

Abstract:One 56-year-old female patient was diagnosed with transverse colon cancer liver metastases for 3 months, and had no allergy history of drug and food. After the hospitalization, she was given the 5th course of mFOLFOX6 chemotherapy, including receiving infusion of oxaliplatin 150 mg dissolved in 5%glucose solution 500 mL. Three minutes after the infusion, there was sudden irritability, foaming at the mouth, cold and wet body, weak pulse, chest tightness, with HR of 103 beats per minute, BP of 60/40 mm Hg, SPO2 of 66%. The infusion was stopped immediately. The patient was treated with oxygen, dexamethasone, promethazine, dopamine, hydrocortisone sodium succinate, etc. The symptoms relieved after 40 minutes. One hour later, she recovered.
