Effect of the use of antidepressants during pregnancy on the newborn

Abstract:The use of antidepressants during pregnancy may increase the newborn with congenital malformations, neonatal persistent pulmonary hypertension and the risk of birth defects. In this paper, through literature search, the impact of the use of antidepressants during pregnancy on the newborn was reviewed to strengthen the security of antidepressant use during pregnancy. The effect of current use of antidepressants during pregnancy on the newborn has no unified conclusion, remains to be further discussed, so the reasonable medication should be chosen by weighing the pros and cons of pregnant women and fetuses.
