A review of design and practice of patient medication information in foreign countries

Abstract：Patient medication information conveys medication information in a more easily understood expression and form, which reduces reading difficulty of package insert to a great extent. America, Australia, European countries and Singapore developed a mature patient medication information system, including Patient Package Insert, Medication Guides, Drug Facts Label, Consumer Medicine Information, Patient Information Sheet and other forms. Guided by regulations and guidelines, package insert took patients' health literacy and comprehension into consideration, employed the idea of information design, as well as focusing on risks and adverse reactions of drugs. The design and practice of patient medication information in foreign countries set a good example for us.
