Abstract:Pantaogong landslide located at Eastern Hill of Guiyang city is a consequently rocky one on a small scale in a typical karst terrain. This article deals mainly with genesis discussion of the landslide and physical mechanism analysis of three weak intercalations as well as optimal selection of control measures. An insitu geological and hydrogeological investigation in this area was carried out in more detail.Shear strength tests of disturbed and remolded soil samples collected from three siltized intercalations were made under saturation condition in the laboratory.Major indexes concerning with physical and mechanics properties were obtained from the tests.Considering that a large solution fissure in the rear was filled with water which can infiltrate along the slide planes, based on a limit equilibrium theory of the single slide surface of rigid body, some related parameters were computed appropriately and calculated results were used to assess the stability of the landslide. In addition,a field deformation observation at major fissures on the landslide was completed after prestressed anchor ropes had been installed within the landslide body.It is indicated from the deformation observation that prestressed anchor rope technique is one of most effective approches in landslide control and it is apparent that the landslide is stable after treatment.
