Abstract:Objective To establish a risk prediction model for heart failure by analyzing the correlation between ferroptosis-related indicators and heart failure, and to quickly and quantitatively assess the risk of heart failure in early stage,so as to provide important scientific basis for clinical decision-making.Methods The case data of hospitalized patients with cardiovascular diseases in the Department of Cardiology of Dongzhimen Hospital,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from December 25,2022 to January 31,2023 were continuously included.According to whether they had heart failure, the patients were divided into the observation group(patients with heart failure,32 cases)and the control group(non-heart failure,68 cases). The changes in the levels of malondialdehyde(MDA),reduced glutathione(GSH)and ferrous ion(Fe2+)in the two groups were detected. The relationship between ferroptosis and heart failure was explored, and the independent predictors of heart failure were identified. Results Compared with the control group, the levels of MDA and Fe2+in the observation group were higher, and the level of GSH was lower(P<0.05),suggesting that ferroptosis-related factors were associated with heart failure. After multivariate logistic regression and stepwise regression analysis, six factors including MDA,Fe2+age,myoglobin,N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP),and fractional shortening(FS)were finally used as independent variables to construct and verify the prediction model. The model formula was Y=-7074+0.990×MDA+0.002×Fe2++0.132×age+0.021×myoglobin+0.001×NT-proBNP-0.351×FS.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was plotted and the area under the curve(AUC)was calculated as 0.972.Conclusion Ferroptosis related factors MDA,GSH,Fe2+are closely related to the occurrence of heart failure, among which MDA and Fe2+can be used as independent predictors for predicting the occurrence of heart failure.
