Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between level changes of serum soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2(sST2)and growth differentiation factor-15(GDF-15)and myocardial remodeling in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF)with different NYHA grades of heart function. Methods CHF patients(n=125)were selected into case group, and healthy volunteers(n=110)were selected into control group in Qingdao Municipal Hospital from Oct 2021 to Oct.2023.The level changes of serum sST2,GDF-15 and red blood count(RBC),and myocardial remodeling[left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular posterior wall thickness(LVPWT),left ventricular mass index(LVMI),left ventricular remodeling index(LVRI)]were analyzed. The relationship between changes of sST2 and GDF-15 and myocardial remodeling was analyzed. Results The levels of sST2 and GDF-15 were significantly higher in case group than those in control group(P<0.05).The levels of LVEDD,LAD,LVPW and LVMI were significantly higher, and LVRI was significantly lower in case group than those in control group(P<0.05).The levels of sST2,GDF-15,LVEDD,LAD,LVPW and LVMI were significantly lower, and LVRI was significantly higher in patients with NYHA grades I and II than those in patients with NYHA grades Ⅲ and Ⅳ.The levels of sST2,GDF-15,LVEDD,LAD,LVPW and LVMI were significantly lower, and LVRI was significantly higher in patients with NYHA grade Ⅲ than those in patients with NYHA gradeⅣ(P<0.05).The results of correlation analysis showed that sST2 and GDF-15 were positively correlated to LVEDD,LAD,LVPW and LVMI,and negatively correlated to LVRI(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of serum sST2 and GDF-15 are positively correlated to NYHA heart function grades, and level changes of serum sST2 and GDF-15 are closely related to myocardial remodeling.
