Abstract:Methodological quality serves as the critical kernel for assessing the reliability of evidence. However, the diversity of evidence types means that sources of bias vary across different study designs. Moreover, the multitude of internationally published risk of bias assessment tools-each with its own strengths and weaknesses in development methods and frameworks-poses challenges for evidence evaluators in selecting the most appropriate tool. Therefore, this article provides a comprehensive introduction to the rational selection of risk of bias assessment tools and the Latitudes website, building on the latest advancements in understanding methodological quality, risk of bias, and assessment tools. The aim is to enhance the scientific evaluation of methodological quality in domestic research evidence.
