Meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of Jiangzhi Tongluo Soft Capsule combined with statins in the treatment of hyperlipemia

Abstract：Objective To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of combining Jiangzhi Tongluo Soft Capsule with statins in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.Methods A search was conducted in databases including Wanfang Data,CNKI,VIP,SinoMed,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,and Web of Science from their inception to May 29,2024.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)involving the combination of Jiangzhi Tongluo Soft Capsule and statins for the treatment of hyperlipidemia were collected.Meta-analyses were performed using Review Manager 5.2 and Stata 18.0 software.Results A total of 10 studies involving 1150 patients with hyperlipidemia were included.Meta-analysis results show that compared with statins alone,statins combined with Jiangzhi Tongluo soft capsule could effectively reduce the serum levels of total cholesterol(MD=-0.63,95%CI:-0.88～-0.38,P＜0.00001),triglycerides(MD=-0.46,95%CI:-0.54～-0.38,P＜0.00001),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(MD=-0.38,95%CI:-0.54～-0.22,P＜0.00001),and hypersensitive C-reactive protein(MD=-3.19,95%CI:-3.49～-2.90,P＜0.00001),as well as increase the serum levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(MD=0.20,95%CI:0.11～0.29,P＜0.00001),and improve the overall clinical effectiveness(RR=1.25,95%CI:1.13～1.37,P＜0.00001).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(RR=0.72,95%CI:0.47～1.11,P=0.13).Conclusion The available evidence indicates that the addition of the Jiangzhi Tongluo Soft Capsule to statin therapy alone can further improve clinical efficacy and lipid levels with a favorable safety profile.
