Abstract:Objective To investigate the research progress of left atrial appendage occlusion(LAAO)related to atrial fibrillation(AF)based on CiteSpace in the past 5 years. Methods The literature from the Science Citation Index Expanded(SCIE)in the Web of Science Core Collection database were used as source,CiteSpace software was employed to conduct visual analysis of publications, journals, keywords, etc. Results As of Nov.1,2024,a total of 748 publications were included, with the overall number of studies showing a consistent upward trend. The United States(272 articles)and China(194 articles)were the leading research countries, while the Mayo Clinic was the most prolific research institution.Nielsen Kudsk and Jens Erik from Denmark contributed the highest number of publications(32 articles),and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology was the most frequently cited journal. The keyword visualization analysis highlighted device improvements, complication management, and the application of imaging techniques in preoperative assessment and postoperative follow-up,with research focus shifting toward postoperative anticoagulation strategies. Conclusion This study highlights the importance of LAAO in AF and the evolving trends in research hotspots. In the future,it is necessary to strengthen international collaboration, technological innovation, and the development of imaging assessment tools to promote the standardized clinical application of LAAO,thereby improving treatment efficacy and prognosis for AF patients.
