Abstract:Objective To discuss the correlation among ω-3 unsaturated fatty acid,ω-6 unsaturated fatty acid and incidence of coronary heart disease(CHD)in adults, and provide evidences for CHD prevention and management. Methods A cross-sectional analysis was conducted based on the database of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES),incorporating survey data from a total of 3 cycles from 2013 to 2018.The influence of ω-3 and ω-6 unsaturated fatty acids on CHD incidence was investigated by using multi-factor Logistic regression analysis.A restricted cubic spline(RCS)model was established for analyzing dose-response relationship. Results There were totally 2416 cases selected and 157 CHD patients(6.50%).The intake of ω-3 and ω-6 unsaturated fatty acids was lower, and intake ratio of ω-6/ω-3 was higher in CHD group than those in control group(P<0.05).The results of multi-factor Logistic regression analysis showed that decreased intakes of ω-3 unsaturated fatty acid(OR=0.650,95%CI:0.535~0.789)and ω-6 unsaturated fatty acid(OR=0.946,95%CI:0.924~0.969),and increased intake ratio of ω-6/ω-3(OR=1.096,95%CI:1.044~1.150)were independent risk factors for CHD occurrence(P<0.05).The results of RCS model analysis showed that with increase of daily intake of ω-3 and ω-6 unsaturated fatty acids,CHD incidence showed a J curve that first decreased and then increased. There was a positive linear relationship between ω-6/ω-3 intake ratio and CHD incidence, and the trend was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion Within dietary recommendations, the increases in the intakes of ω-3 and ω-6 unsaturated fatty acids can reduce CHD risk, and reasonable intake ratio of ω-6/ω-3 is helpful for CHD prevention.
