Clinical efficacy and influence of enhanced external counter pulsation on microvascular angina,quality of life and vascular endothelial function

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and influence of enhanced external counter pulsation(EECP)on microvascular angina(MVA),quality of life(QOL)and vascular endothelial function.Methods MVA patients(n=120)were selected and divided randomly into EECP group and medicine group(each n=60)in Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Wuchang Hospital of Wuhan City from Apr.2021 to June 2022.The medicine group was treated with routine drugs,and EECP group was additionally treated with EECP.The levels of flow-mediated dilation(FMD),endothelin-1(ET-1)and nitric oxide(NO),scores of Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ)and 36-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36),and the total effective rate were compared between 2 groups before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the total effective rate was higher in EECP group than that in medicine group(85.00％vs.45.00％,P＜0.05).The level of ET-1 decreased significantly,and levels of FMD and NO and scores of SAQ and SF-36 increased significantly in 2 groups after treatment,which was more significant in EECP group(P＜0.05).Conclusion EECP can effectively alleviate angina,regulate levels of NO and ET-1,improve endothelial function,and enhance QOL in MVA patients.The effect of EECP is great and it is worth clinical promoting.
